Guided Tour - Adding New Tests to your QUIZMEPRO School Accounts

IMPORTANT: QuizMePro School Accounts come in 3 "flavors": Picture and Audio, Avatars, and ESL. These accounts are not integrated. You must have a separate account and use a different log in page for each type of account you choose to create. Account numbers and log in links are sent to you by email when you create an account. Please keep this information in a safe place. It can take up to 2 days for us to retrieve your account information if you forget your account number or login passwords.

After logging into your Teacher Account, you will see your "Teacher Dashboard" which asks, "What would you like  to do?" This tour is about Adding a New Test, so you would click the "Add a New Test" button.

Create a Test - In three easy steps

Step 1 - Choose Content Parameters

Choose how many words you would like to include in the problem set. For example, choosing a 10 word problem set will allow you to choose 10 words from our Language Dictionary. Each of the words will constitute 1 question in a 10-question Test.  (Creating 6 words would create a 6 question quiz, 8 words - an 8 questions quiz, etc.) Each Quiz page has 4 possible responses. One word will be a correct choice on each Quiz page. The remaining words in the problem set will be randomly selected to fill in the 3 distracters (wrong answers) for each question in the problem set.
Choose an appropriate name for your Content. (Think of "Content" in terms of a word category  or topic (ex: Fruit). Later on, you'll be asked for a Test name. Think of "Test" in terms of designating which students should take the Quiz (ex: 2nd Period.)
Choose the language in which you would like to create your Quiz. (The page default is English) This choice is the language in which response buttons will be created.
Choose the "type" of Quiz you would like to create: Picture Only, Audio Only, Both Picture and Audio. (These Quiz types cannot be mixed and matched.)

If you have chosen an audio "type" Quiz (ex: Audio Only or Picture with Audio) the Audio language defaults to the same as the Response button language. But, you can change the language in which the audio will be presented, using the Optional Section. Ex: If you have created a Quiz with English response buttons, the default Audio language will be English. But, in the Optional fields, you can change the Audio language to Spanish, French or German.

Note: The language you choose for "Answers" will be the language in which you make your selections for Quiz Content and the language in which the Answer Buttons appear in the Students' Quiz.

ESL - Content Parameters Screen

ESL is English Only. There are no Content Parameters to select with the exception of the number of words for your Quiz, and your Quiz topic.

Step 2 - Select Quiz Content

Now, it's time to start selecting your Content words. Just click on a letter, scroll down to the word you want to include and click the word. It will be added to your Quiz set automatically. If you selected Spanish as the language, the Spanish dictionary will open. If you selected English as the language, the English dictionary will open, etc.
To select words that begin with the letter "A," click A above the "Choices" section. To select words that begin with the letter "B," click B, etc. It will take 7-8 clicks before your first word appears in the Content Boxes. After that, each word from the same letter selection will appear with a single click. If you change letters, it will take 7-8 clicks again to get started; but only one click after that.
Continue selecting words until your Quiz set is filled. Click a letter-Click a word. If you make a mistake or change your mind about a word, don't worry. Just highlight the unwanted word (#1, #2, #3, etc.) and press your keyboard's "Delete" key. Then select another word to replace it. When you're finished, click "Next Step".

ESL - Select Quiz Content Screen

ESL has not yet been changed over to Alphabetized listings.  ESL vocabulary and phrases are contained in Category Folders, instead of Letter Folders. Otherwise, they act the same as our Pictures and Audio Content Selection. You might have to click up to 8 times to see the first Content appear in Box #1, but after that, a single click fills the remaining Boxes.

Step 3

Now it's time to decide on a Test Name and when you want the test to be available to your students. Remember, think of "Test" in terms of designating which students should take the Quiz (ex: 2nd Period.)
Things to remember:
  • Creating a specific time frame for tests to be available is handy if you want to restrict student access to specific time periods for quizzing or testing for a grade, as opposed to practice quizzes.
  • All times are recorded in Central Time, so keep in mind the differences in time zones when making these settings. (A time zone chart is available at the end of this page for your reference.)
  • All times with a start date set to a future date or time will not be visible to your students until that date or time occurs.
  • All stop dates set to a past date or time will not be visible to your students.
  • Multiple Tests can be created for any Content set. For example, one Test over Content "Food" could be named, "Pre-Test for Spanish 1," and created to be available at the current time. Another, separate Quiz, with "Food" as the content and Test Name of  "In-Class Test for Food" could be created and made available at a future time, with a specific practice lab day in mind.
When finished, click "Complete Test Setup".
A recap of your selections will be displayed. Clicking the "Return to Dashboard" button will send you back to your Teacher Dashboard, as displayed in the first picture way at the top of this guide.

Soon after creating your Quiz, it is a good idea to log into your account as a student (on the right side of the log in page, using the student log in information) to check the Quiz and verify that you got the results you wanted.
